12 Months of Creativity – 2011

In January of 2011, I was feeling pretty much creatively stagnant with my life. I was getting tired of discovering new fun arts & crafts and saying “I could do that!” and then letting it just blow on by. I decided the only way I would ever really stick to doing all these things was to make a year-long project out of it. I chose any and all types of creative things I’d never done… There was a short film – which proved to be the scariest and most uncomfortable thing ever – but also probably the thing I am most proud of. There was the craft of needle felting, to which I responded “where have you been all my life?!”. And there was the unexpected love I found for building furniture from reclaimed items and refinishing it into something new and all my own. There were many other projects too; nature art, jewelry making, portrait photography, Ukrainian easter eggs, and more! It was certainly a year full of adventure.

Below is a gallery of the final projects from each month. You can click the archive links to view the full month’s posts!
