Meet Moby, my first needle felted critter!
Hi Everyone!
Well, I completed my very first needle felted critter this weekend! Meet Moby the tiny white whale! He’s not much bigger than a quarter, but don’t be fooled – because he has a BIG personality! Incredibly rambunctious and always curious, he is likely already getting his fins into some mischief about my house while I am not there.
Below is a flipped view to show his belly.
I have to say, I really making this little guy. It is definitely a slow process. Probably took me around 5 hours to complete him. The needle felting process is a lot more gradual than I expected – but also pretty easy to pick up. It’s interesting to see it take form from just a loose pile of wool, slowly felted tighter and tighter until you end up with a surprisingly durable object at the end!
Now that I’ve had a good practice round, it’s time to start sketching the ideas I’ve got for the final piece. Only a week until my deadline! Yikes!
Cheerio,

That’s a great start, and really neat – I like the simplicity of him. You’re a natural! :)
